FALLEN TREES FESTIVAL Athens, Greece (18-22/6/2025)

At the Fallen Trees—The Agony of Existence Festival, we may hear the wind in the trees, see them come to life via song and storytelling, and be reminded of how small we are in the universe by some of Europe’s most accomplished theater artists. The Fallen Trees Festival invites us to listen, create, and grow as a community.

In the context of this festival, prepare to be delighted by a realm of theater, dance, music, and site-specific performances.
Held in the beautiful, green Galatsi Veikou Grove in Athens from June 18 to 22, 2025, this festival is a joyful celebration of art, nature, and human connection.
Initiated and coordinated by the innovative Topos Allou-Aeroplio Theatre, this remarkable event is an essential component of the EU-supported Trees Project, led by DAH Theatre-Serbia.
The festival, which unites eight recognized European theatre and culture organizations, guarantees a week of memorable experiences that combine artistic expression, environmental awareness, and cross-cultural understanding.

Imagine a stage with mesmerizing performances that combine narrative, dance, and music/song. Inspired by the global trend of forest fires, these theatrical works will probe the delicate relationship between humans and the natural world.
Wander the grove in search of thought-provoking displays, which extend beyond the stage. This will be a sensory journey that celebrates resilience and ecological diversity, combining visual art with environmental observation. Roots that last, branches that stretch, and leaves that whisper earthly secrets are all stories told by each piece.
Artists, scientists, intellectuals, and festivalgoers will come together under the trees for roundtable conversations when the festival truly comes alive. The importance of cross-border cooperation, the critical need to preserve our planet, and the role of the theatrical medium in promoting sustainability will be explored in depth throughout the events. A more sustainable and interconnected future will be the result of passionate discussions, new perspectives, and a collective resolve.
