Breathing Earth (Topos Allou Theatre, Greece)

The Olive Tree of Athens, fruit of divine strife, Daphne who became foliage to escape human passion, the Oak of Oracles that once spoke with the voice of Zeus, return and become once again symbols of memory and warning. “Breathing Earth” is a lament – but also a hope. Because even in the midst of destruction, the earth persists in breathing.
The language of the performance is song. The folk music of the streets – the sounds that once echoed in festivals and chapels – are transformed. They are dressed in contemporary sounds, orchestrated with electronic whispers and beats reminiscent of the heart of the earth.
