Festivals

In the framework of the TREES project, three international festivals are organised in Greece, Spain, and Germany to showcase and exchange artistic work addressing climate change and environmental responsibility. Each festival runs for five days and feature the newly created theatre performances from all participating countries, developed through the project’s methodology. These performances—presented in open public spaces and free of charge—combine dance, theatre, video projections, original music, poetry, and scientific facts to inspire emotional engagement and civic action for the protection of trees and the environment.

Beyond the performances, the festivals offer a rich programme of parallel events, including workshops with environmental scientists, panel discussions, and interactive activities designed to deepen public understanding of environmental issues and stimulate debate. Local and international artists, community members, and environmental experts come together, fostering intercultural dialogue and sharing perspectives on climate challenges across Europe.

Each festival acts as both a cultural celebration and a platform for public discussion, strengthening connections between artistic creation, environmental activism, and community engagement. By bringing together diverse voices and experiences, the festivals promote the international circulation of environmentally focused performances, encourage collaborative action, and inspire citizens to take an active role in the fight against climate change.
