This podcast series brings together voices from three partner organisations of The Trees Project, offering an inside look at how performing arts can engage with climate change, environmental protection, and our relationship with nature. Recorded during project festivals and activities in different European contexts, the episodes feature theatre makers from Serbia, Germany, and Greece who reflect on their artistic processes, local realities, and experiences of creating performances inspired by trees. Through these conversations, listeners gain insight into how trees are approached not only as ecological elements, but also as cultural symbols, living beings, and carriers of memory, mythology, and social meaning.
Across the three podcasts, artists discuss the challenges and opportunities of working in public and natural spaces, engaging diverse audiences beyond traditional theatre settings, and translating scientific knowledge, environmental urgency, and lived experience into accessible artistic language. The series highlights the shared principles of the TREES Project—openness, participation, and environmental awareness—while showcasing the diversity of artistic approaches developed by each partner. Together, the podcasts invite reflection on how art can reconnect people with nature, encourage collective responsibility, and contribute to a broader European dialogue on sustainability and the future of our common environment.
Action Synergy was the responsible for the conduction of the 3 podcasts.
